After the successful start given last year by the 1st Annual SEER Symposium, we feel encouraged to continue to provide a platform for a discussion of subjects which are of great importance to the social, economic and political development of the countries of south-east Europe.

The experience of regional co-operation and the problems that it engenders will be one of the issues for consideration at the 2nd SEER International Symposium. A second theme will focus on the process of nation and state building in the Balkans during the recent past. Both themes will draw particular attention to those countries which have large Albanian populations.
